Heanor based Yourbus (the trading name of Dunn Motor Traction) have added two further services to their Nottingham area network. The 228 (Beeston-QMC-Hucknall) and the 229 (QMC-Eastwood), both under contract to Nottinghamshire County Council and, prior to the 23rd August 2010, the routes are provided by K&H Doyle of Alfreton.
The new 228 has been extended to Beeston on the majority of journeys, and now provides an hourly service between Hucknall, Bulwell, Phoenix Park, the QMC and Beeston. On the present Doyles service the Hucknall-QMC route is provided off-peak only, but the new Yourbus timetable provides peak time and school journeys. Finally, there are also some later evening Hucknall-Bulwell journeys, one way only, at 18:15 and 19:05.
The 229 now runs QMC-Eastwood only, the extension to Beeston having been added to the 228. The route maintains a core hourly frequency, with some variations for associated school journeys, numbered 435 (Giltbrook Farm to Selston Arts & Community Centre) and the 649 (Kimberley Comprehensive – Cossall Marsh), though the AM journey on the 649 is show only to call at Cossall Marsh.
The 228/229 routes were created to replace a number of services provided by Veolia Transport, namely the 170-172 and the 535/555 services.
