Lincoln Walk & Ride

The Lincoln Walk & Ride service, which operates between the St Marks Centre and Castle Square via the City Centre, has apparently changed opertaors. Initially operated by Hodsons Coaches, the route later moved to TransLinc, and apparently, from the 30th June the service moved to PC Coaches of Lincoln.

The Mercedes minibuses used on the route have presumably also transferred operators, but I can’t find any information on the change, other than Lincolnshire County Council’s service changes document and the VOSA registration, submitted on the 17th June 2010. With the lack of information, I presume this means the timetable remains the same as before.

If anyone has any more information on why this change has come about, please feel free to leave a comment.

  1. Although I haven’t found a spare second to ring either company up, I can confirm that the one W&R liveried minibus is with PC Coaches now, and they are providing a second bus for the circuit. It was an Optare Solo yesterday, with ‘Park N Ride’ on the destination blind!

  2. Was talking to a PC Coaches driver the other day, who commented that the Mercedes Sprinters have appalling reliability, hence why the Ford/Optare Bonito (YN03???) and the Solo are making regular appearances.
