  1. I wondered if you’ve spotted the registration by Wardle Transport of a new service, Derby – Uttoxeter – Stoke from April 2nd. This sounds like a revival of the old Potteries 23 service which did not survive de-regulation. The old PMT service was just two journeys daily each way by the end but the new proposal is for a two-hourly service and by making use of the A50 road (the new service will be X50) it will short circuit TrentBarton’s ‘Swift’ Derby – Ashbourne – Uttoxeter by a considerable amount. It might even tempt some rail passengers who currently use East Midlands Trains Derby – Stoke – Crewe service. I think it’s quite an exciting venture and I look forward to seeing whether TrentBarton will continue to claim that theirs is the ‘Swift’ service!
